the day of non-achievements
so.
i finally finish this LONG post that i'd been working on for the last 5 days, and it disappears.
i finally find this one song that i've been DYING to listen to (thanks to dweebs), and it isn't available for downloading.
i finally book some tickets for a trip, online, and my bank refuses to pay.
i finally play the songs on various blogs that i wanted, and i can't figure how to SAVE them on my comp. some get saved automatically and then i can't find them.
i finally try to light the fireplace all by myself, and it actually does! never mind that it dies out in 15 min.
so i graciously retire from the world today...and find comfort in my books.
currently reading:
- 'the time traveller's wife', audrey niffneger: good fun and total time-pass
- 'the interpersonal world of the infant', daniel stern: for when i remember i have a brain
- 'the bhagvad gita', swami chinmayananda: every night
- Asterix series: toilet-reading
what u all reading?

:D at the Asterix choice. I dig!
How is that Bhagvad Gita book? Is it commentary or translation? Have you read Sri Aurobindo's Essays On The Gita? I like to say, its the most significant book I have read so far in my life!
Currently reading :
Sri Aurobindo, or The Adventure of Consciousness : Satprem
Raja Yoga : Yogi Ramacharaka
Fooled By Randomness : Nassim Nicholas Taleb
Latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine
Your blogs and this dang computer screen mostly...

reading "portrait of a turkish family" by irfan orga.
vb, chinmayananda's is a commentary. i like the essence of what he says but find his style quite tedious. haven't read aurobindo ever!

g, u still having a hangover from turkey! is this book fiction? thought u only read non-fiction.
not really a hangover. am a slow reader turned slower. have had to give the book many breaks, but because i like it so much i go back. it is non-fiction (it isnt true that i dont read fiction ever!).
seems like a typical day of mine :) am reading neil gaiman's "fragile things", andrea camilleri's "scent of the night", woody allen's "complete prose" and Sendak's "where the wild things are".
