ineffable

a picture speaks
a thousand words
but i find none
to express even one
which can say
what i really feel

they said this
and they said that
but it's none of this
nor any of that

it's just something else.
you must know it's true
that i'm so in love
with the very thought of you.

Great to hear that you are tuning in to the Grateful Dead. A Grateful Dead concert from 1972 would typically consist of two sets of music. The first set would be mostly short tunes allowing the band to loosen up. The second set would get much more exploratory. So I would spend a lot of time with the first set of music because thats where the hooks are for a first-time listener.

Also, here's a link to lyrics just in case you need it : http://arts.ucsc.edu/gdead/agdl/

I have found its very rewarding to spend some time delving into the lyrics because, although the music is great all by itself :), the lyrics add an extra dimension of wisdom and storytelling.

Hope you enjoy!

Oh, and dont feel pressured by my enthusiasm to like the music! :)

There's no accounting for taste, as they say.
